Project Deadpool Write-Up
Project X-51 is the third version of the rocket project, it is also the last version.
In the previous two, I learned multiple things to help my new rocket. One such thing is Nose-cone height and steepness. I found its better to have a long nose-cone, as to make it as aerodynamic as possible. Something else improve upon the nose-cone is the ridges, the cone shouldn't go wider than the bottle.
Another thing I learned was to use long, thin fins, that allow the flow of air, but not create drag. I tested three different versions of wings before coming to this conclusions: medium length, long width; medium length, medium width; long length, small width. I finally came to the conclusion that the latter was the better idea.
Some other minor things we included from my previous rocket was an elongated nose-cone, and graphic designs (just for looks). Also the amount of water used, on www.rocketforums.com users said filling the rocket to 1/3 capacity wielded the best results.
The additions to our rocket will include a sturdy card-stock nose-cone and a parachute. After watching previous rocket's nose cone crumple because of flimsy materials we decided it would be best to use a high quality hard cone. We wanted to use a parachute because we knew it would be hard to make the egg survive so we wanted to utilize a parachute partly because it would be easy and partly because it would look cool. Unfortunately the parachute did not work.
Most of our research was based off of previous rockets and the Seniors rockets. We also used Youtube and like mentioned,www.rocketforums.com.

Rocket
This is my groups rocket. We based our design on Deadpool, a Marvel anti-hero. Our company's name was Deadpool.
In this project, we were assigned to a group of three to make a bottle or paper rocket. Out rocket was a bottle rocket. We were given the task to make a rocket that would launch 50 feet. each team member was assigned a job to insure our companies success. I was given the task of being the designer of our rocket. I short I did the scaled drawing for my group and the write-up. Cindy was our team manager and was the only one of us that was allowed to talk to the teacher and keep us on task. Nathan was the budget manager and was given the task of buying necessary items and keeping count of our teams money.
