2/2/2017 0 Comments Week 5 - February 1stSome advice I would give future interns is to get an idea of what you want to do for internship and then find five or more placing that can cater to that idea. I would also recommend not just researching your first option for internship but to also research ALL of your options and to research their mission statements in particular. If one of them happen to not have a mission statement, call them (not email) and ask for a brief summary of what they’re all about.

2/2/2017 0 Comments Week 5 - January 31stMy Internship has inspired me to think about what I would want to major in college and what colleges I should be looking at if I were to choose to major in Marine Biology. Some of those colleges include Duke University, Monterey Bay, Berkeley, Irvine, SDSU (Scrippts), and many more.
2/2/2017 0 Comments Week 5 - January 30thI am most thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in a underprivileged neighborhood like city heights and change the lives of the kids in that community (even if the change is minuscule).
While working with ODI, I developed a appreciation to be able to go to a school like HTHI that doesn’t just prepares it’s students for college but the real world too. 2/2/2017 0 Comments Week 4 - January 26thOne quality that I truly admire in my coworkers is their determination. To be frank, most of the work done behind the scenes of ODI is quite mundane. Even though the task they often do are boring, they simply sit down and complete them. This is a attribute I would like to have beyond high school so I have free time after immediately finishing my work.
My internship has also helped strengthen my choice of becoming a marine biologist. Though I still want to be a marine biologist, I also want study politics and law in college. These two career path couldn’t be any more different but I feel a pull towards both. |
